Rotherham-based Helping Hands Accounting was formed in 2008 to target the small business community with bookkeeping, payroll and accounting services. Prior to promoting the company’s new services they built their website themselves using JustType.

“We were really impressed with how easy it was to build our own website,” said Lynda Baker, Helping Hand’s Senior Partner. “The cost was also very attractive, which is always important when starting a new business.”

The company’s main client base is small businesses, many of whom are start-ups.

“It soon became apparent that a lot of our clients didn’t have websites or would need one as part of their start-up activities”, explained Lynda. “At first we just mentioned JustType to those that were interested, but then we found out about the Affiliate Scheme.”

“JustType’s Affiliate Scheme allows us to acquire additional revenue by selling websites to our clients. It’s really simple. We promote the service to our small business customers and if they sign-up we get a cut of any upfront design services and of the annual fees, not just the first year, but for every year they renew after that.”

All technical support is provided by JustType, so Helping Hands Accounting doesn’t need to worry about ongoing support issues.

“The JustType website is a great marketing tool for us, we just point prospective customers to it and it explains everything they need to know,” continued Lynda. “We also tell them about our experience with the product. It is a really attractive proposition for small businesses and a number of our clients have been surprised by how inexpensive it is. Many of them also like the idea of being able to maintain their own sites and eliminating expensive web design fees.”

In addition to accountants, the Affiliate Scheme is proving to be very attractive to a number of companies that deal with the small business community including printers, consultants and trade organisations. According to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) nearly 50% of small to medium-sized businesses do not have an online presence, the market for JustType is therefore very large!
